The new MPI version 2

Flight recorder systems have evolved which demand more storage and therefore larger dataframe requirements. The new MPI v2 is currently in development and will support these new flight recorders when used with STARS in the same capabilities as the HHMPI.
Additional Flight recorders have been introduced to the aviation market to meet the different aircraft size and configurations. The new flight recorders available now come with Ethernet standards which have more storage and improved transfer speeds for downloading purposes.
The new release for the MPI v2 (due in August 2013) will be capable of downloadingthe following flight data and cockpit voice recorder types:
- Universal Ethernet CVFDR
- L3 FA2100 FDR, CVR & CVDR, MADRAS FA2300, FA5000, FA5001 FDR, CVR & CVDR & SRVIVR
- Honeywell UFDR, AR FDR/CVR/Combi, DVDR, HFR5-D and Honeywell Light Weight FDR, CVR & CVFDR
Some of the other functions included in the new MPI version 2 include:
- Completely revised firmware with faster connection, increase in stability and reliability
- Compatible with newer versions of Windows 7 & 8
