Meet Catalin Sindilaru, Operations Service Manager

Recently, Flight Data Systems welcomed a new team member aboard. Meet Catalin Sindilaru, the new Operations Service Manager joining Flight Data Systems with 20-year tenure in the aviation sphere. Catalin joins the team with extensive experience in readout analysis and flight data monitoring services. Our team is thrilled to have Catalin and his expertise as we continue to develop our readouts platform.

How Catalin entered the aviation world.

Hailing from Romania, Catalin studied Propulsion Systems in the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Bucharest. In 2007 he completed his degree, and his graduation led to his first role in aviation. This role was an Engineering position with Blue Air, a Romanian carrier headquartered in Bucharest. Catalin credits this role with introducing him to the various aspects of aircraft engineering and maintenance.

“My first job with Blue Air, a Romanian carrier, taught me much about aircraft maintenance and engineering. This eventually led me to a role within the Flight Data Management (FDM) department,” mentions Catalin.

Catalin built his role as a Quality Assurance Engineer to include FDM administration and analyst programming skills furthering his skillset. These skills eventually led him to a position with a flight data monitoring firm in Fareham and later in Whiteley, UK, where he worked for nine years. Catalin strengthened his knowledge of flight data, readouts, and 3D visualizations at this flight data monitoring firm.

During his tenure as a flight data expert, he gained experience working with short turnaround express readouts. He provided express readout services for cockpit voice recorders, flight data recorders, and data link messaging. This furthered his growing skills in the FDM space and elevated his career to a Readout Services Manager level. Catalin credits his time working as a flight data readout services manager for exponentially benefitting his career and connections.

“My time as a flight data specialist helped me build my knowledge of flight data, readouts, and 3D simulations,” says Catalin. “This broadened my network, allowing me to meet some of the most distinguished people in my career.”

Joining Flight Data Systems and the road ahead.

Catalin’s talents and capability to connect with different individuals in the FDM field eventually led him to Flight Data Systems. With Catalin’s focus on flight data solutions and flight data analysis, the Operation Services Manager position fits him well. He looks forward to positively contributing to the company’s development in this role.

He hopes to continue to help develop the readout platform and meet the people who comprise Flight Data Systems. When asked what he is looking forward to working on at Flight Data Systems, Catalin stated:

“I look forward to applying my experience and knowledge of readouts to grow Flight Data Systems’ readout service further. In my new role, I aim to add new capabilities and improve upon our already industry-leading TAT times for operators around the world.”
